To further enhance our member’s understanding on the implementation and player development benefits of the retreat line in our grassroots game a webinar has been scheduled by the OSA for Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The retreat line has been introduced in the grassroots game over the past year to help develop a young player’s ability to play out from the goalkeeper and keep possession as they build an attack.
This teaching tool has also been used to help build confidence in players as they retain possession of the ball.
During the webinar the rationale behind the retreat line, the procedure and also training activities will be covered to help coaches, players, parents, game leaders and referees understand more about the retreat line. The webinar is open to all members.

The Nor’West Optimist Soccer Club believes that all players have potential. We, as a club, strongly believe in the LTPD (Long Term Player Development) pathway.
Using a holistic approach to develop young athletes within the game we love – from Active Start to Soccer For Life – Nor’West Soccer aims to provide a clear pathway for payers, coaches and officials.
New this season; The NW Grassroots Development Program for boys and girls under 7 to under 10. This program is designed to supplement our existing House League program. The NW Grassroots Development builds the total player and prepares them to meet their more competitive soccer goals.
Run by CSA/OSA licensed and LTPD certified coaches, who will follow a grassroots curriculum the NW Grassroots Program will run 10 weeks in length, from Mid June to Mid Aug.
Registration details coming online this week.
We are committed to a player centered approach to the game we love.
Still riding the high of playing in the final, as captain, for the Canadian Women’s U17 squad at the CONCACAF Championships, Jessie Fleming was hit with another unbelievable opportunity. She was invited to train with the Senior Canadian Women’s National Team and has now been added to the roster for the upcoming Four Nations Cup. Playing on the national team alongside veteran greats like Christine Sinclair, Diana Matheson, and Erin McLeod is a dream come true for the young 15 year old athlete from Nor’West London.
Words cannot express how proud we are for Jessie as she represents Canada, Ontario, London, and Nor’West. We wish her good luck as her journey continues.
